Hello!
I’m Rebecca, often referred to as Mouse. I grew up in Gloucestershire and then lived in Bristol for many years, but I’ve been living in Ynysybwl for about 12 years now. I used to work in nursery schools and I have childcare qualifications, but went back to school to do a BTEC in Animal Management at Bristol Zoo when I realised that childcare wasn’t quite the right fit for me.
After moving here and having my own children, I set to work building Sits & Wiggles so that I could finally have the outdoors career with dogs that I’ve always wanted. I’ve walked hundreds of your dogs over the last few years, and learned more than I knew there was to learn about them. I’ve focussed on dog behaviour and worked on taking every opportunity to learn as much as I can. In 2025 I stepped back from walking a little bit to focus on studying more, and attended more courses than I can count. Both theory based and practical too.
I will qualify as dog trainer with the IMDT this year, and then my goal is to focus on helping people with the basics of dog training. I’m passionate about finding the balance between well mannered dogs that are a joy to live with and allowing our dogs the freedom to be dogs doing dog things. I don’t do any dog sports (although I think they are fantastic for dogs and people!) and I don’t focus on total obedience. I won’t judge you if your dog sleeps on your bed or begs at your dinner table.
I plan to start some dog training walks and classes in the local area very soon, with a focus on the fundamentals that can make life with your dog better for you both. Things like relationship and bond building, solid recall, loose lead walking and games to play to make walks more fun. Puppy classes will be happening too!
In the meantime, I’m still walking the dogs! I have some spaces available for enriching dog walks for solo dogs and same household pairs/groups. My walks have the same focus as my training, fulfilling your dog’s needs, providing enrichment, and welfare over everything else!
I’m fully insured, canine first aid trained, and very experienced.
I'm currently offering one to one dog training at an introductory price while I wait for the results of my assessment with the IMDT (Institute of Modern Dog Trainers). All training requires a consultation first!
To book, please send me an email or a message and we will arrange a call to find out whether I will be able to help you and your dog. If your case is more complex or I don't have space, I will help you to find another trainer or a behaviourist who can help.
All training is positive reinforcement based, with a focus on getting the whole picture and finding out the root cause of your dog's behaviour. I like to understand how your dog is feeling and work from there.
Judgement free! I don't care if your dog jumps up, eats from the table or sleeps in your bed!
